When it comes to correlation of (astrological) planets and crystals, there is an obvious link between the Moon and the Moonstone. And it’s not just in the name.
The characteristics of Moonstone are related to the Moon and the intuition. It is a stone of “new beginnings”, a stone of hope and happiness. As the Moon waxes and wanes, it harmonizes the stone with the rhythm of emotion. Traditionally, it was used to enhance the extraordinary abilities and to develop clairvoyance. Psychologically, the Moon stone seizes hasty reactions to ordinary situations and emotional triggers. It brings into balance the male and female energy by balancing sexual instincts and desires. Emotionally, it calms emotional instability and fears.
The moonstone strongly influences the female reproductive cycle and reduces tension caused by PMS. It connects to the pineal gland and coordinates the hormonal system, stabilizing the fluid imbalance. Moonstone eliminates toxins, relieves degenerative skin, hair and eye states.
The sacral chakra, or “Svadhishthana” in Sanskrit, means “body joy”. It is the second chakra, and closely related to emotional balance and creativity. Located just below the navel, it regulates the reproductive organs. The Moonstone can be used to open and calm the sacral chakra due to its connection with the Moon and the second chakra.
